To Begin Using PaxGuard™

Here are the steps to sign up for and use the PaxGuard service:

  1. Sign up and download the Merchant Agreement using the botton to the right
  2. Sign and return the Merchant Agreement to Internet Payment Solutions
  3. We will provide you with your PaxGuard account information and the integration specification
  4. Integrate PaxGuard into your e-commerce system
  5. Enjoy the benefits of PaxGuard

Packages

Standard Package — 4.1 US cents per evaluation

There is nothing standard about this package. For $0.041 USD per evaluation, it provides what e-commerce sites need to detect and eliminate fraud. There are no set-up fees and no minimums. As new payment methods become available and new partners are added to the standard package, your price will stay the same.

PaxGuard™ provides the ability to reject requests based on the following:

  • Proximity of the customer to the address of the payment account
  • Amount/number of payments a customer has made over a specified period
  • Number of reversals performed by the customer
  • Customer using an open or anonymous proxy
  • Risk history of the customer’s country
  • Risk of the customer’s email addresses
  • Issuing bank’s country check (credit card only)
  • Shipping address is a shipping forwarder
  • Location mismatch between the provided phone number and address
  • Customer not having a PayPal™-verified account (PayPal only)
  • Customer not having a PayPal-confirmed address (PayPal only)
  • No invoice associated with a PayPal payment (PayPal only)
  • Amount/number of payments made from a device over a specified period*
  • Number of reversals performed from the device for any customers*

*To enable device-based rules in the standard package, you must integrate with ReputationManager™ from iovation® to capture the “black box” identifier of your customer’s device, perform a call to iovation to translate that identifier into the iovation device alias, and send the device alias to PaxGuard.

As an active PaxGuard account holder you receive the following services at no charge:

  • Administrative web service calls
  • Test transactions for integration testing
  • Access to the administrative web site where you will have:
    • Unlimited number of rule sets
    • Historical reporting
    • Transaction/customer searches
    • Ability to view/download invoices

Device Reputation Package — prices vary

If your site is integrated with iovation’s ReputationManager service and sends device aliases to PaxGuard, PaxGuard can run a reputation check on the device. This check will use iovation’s full historical network to check the reputation of the device. Please contact us for pricing information.
